The Academy includes a wonderful gallery featuring works in all mediums by regional artists, award winning custom picture    framing, working artists studios, and the Fiber C.A.F.E. (center for alternative fiber experience).

16FolkNite at PAA (Wed 6-10pm)  Open Jam /Song Circle - Do you play a musical instrument, sing or just love to listen?  Meets every third Wednesday, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. details
 It's time once again for our monthly Folk and Folk-Rock Jam.  We'll sing and play covers AND originals--whatever participants want. We've been lucky enough to have a sound system available so far--and we're likely to have it available again. Bring an instrument, your voice, your ears...come early, come late, stay short or long--whatever makes you happy! Amps, mics, cables, stands, etc., are optional but always appreciated. 26PAA Fiber Art Show at the Library in July (8/25/07 10-2pm)  The Fiber Cafe is pleased to announce the fifth annual Juried Fiber Arts Show to be held at the Peninsula Library from July 26 - August 23, 2008. Artists are invited to enter their work in the show, open to all area fiber artists. details
Welcoming variety, there will be categories for both functional and non-functional works. Prizes will be awarded. There is a $25 entry fee for members ($30 for non-members) for up to three works per artist. Entry fees need to be received no later than July 23, 2008. Art works should be delivered to The Peninsula Library between the hours of 10:00AM and 7:00 PM beginning July 16. For information and an Entry Form call: 330-657-2681.
An open house reception will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sat. July 26. The show will end on Sat Aug 23 with a Fiber Cafe meeting at 10:00am, and a closing party from noon-2:00pm. Your art items will be available to take home after 2:00pm.

PAA - Glass Fusing One-day Primer w/Marianne Hite (Sat, 10 am - 2:30 pm)  This class is a beginning introduction to glass fusing.   Learn the basics of glass fusing in a short one-day course to get your feet wet. details
Glass fusing is the melting together of different pieces of glass that are compatible with each other. This workshop will teach you how to make a small dishes or tiles. We will cover glass cutting, compatibility of glasses, and firing processes. Students will use glass tools and basic materials supplied by the instructor for this workshop. The glass is not included in the class fee. 9PAA - Glass Fusing One-day Primer w/Marianne Hite (Sat, 10 am - 2:30 pm)  This class is a beginning introduction to glass fusing.   Learn the basics of glass fusing in a short one-day course to get your feet wet. details
Glass fusing is the melting together of different pieces of glass that are compatible with each other. This workshop will teach you how to make a small dishes or tiles. We will cover glass cutting, compatibility of glasses, and firing processes. Students will use glass tools and basic materials supplied by the instructor for this workshop. The glass is not included in the class fee. 23PAA Fiber Art Show at the Library in July (8/25/07 10-2pm)  The Fiber Cafe is pleased to announce the fifth annual Juried Fiber Arts Show to be held at the Peninsula Library from July 26 - August 23, 2008. Artists are invited to enter their work in the show, open to all area fiber artists. details
Welcoming variety, there will be categories for both functional and non-functional works. Prizes will be awarded. There is a $25 entry fee for members ($30 for non-members) for up to three works per artist. Entry fees need to be received no later than July 23, 2008. Art works should be delivered to The Peninsula Library between the hours of 10:00AM and 7:00 PM beginning July 16. For information and an Entry Form call: 330-657-2681.
An open house reception will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sat. July 26. The show will end on Sat Aug 23 with a Fiber Cafe meeting at 10:00am, and a closing party from noon-2:00pm. Your art items will be available to take home after 2:00pm.

However, if you would like to bring some unusual paper to add into your journal or album cover designs please feel free to do so. 25PAA - Woolies and More w/Heather Quinones (Sat, 12;00 till 5pm)  Penny rugs or woolies are an old form of recycling scrap pieces of fabric into beautiful and useful items for around the house. details
You will learn a few basic steps of how to prepare the old wool clothes and stitches to enhance your designs.  The only limitation to your creations in this class is your imagination. From making a purse, cell phone carrier, beanbags, to blanket covers the sky is the limit. If you have some old wool clothes that you would like to use in the class please contact Heather to find out how to pre-prepare it before the class date.
